An exciting new performance is making its way onto the stage next week.

The Essex Group will be performing the powerful rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar from July 16 to 19 at the Witham Public Hall.

The show, which was originally showcased by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, toured arenas and was seen by millions.

The Essex group have casted the show with some of the most talented actors living in Essex and have put the show together in just eight weeks.

Sean Quigley, who plays the role of Jesus, will be returning to the stage after taking a five year break after his performance in Les Miserables where he played Valjean.

The musical reflects the last seven days Jesus Christ had on earth, creating an emotional and moving show catered for everyone.

**The Essex Group will be holding auditions for boys and girls aged between eight and 16 for its Witham Pantomime from the week commencing July 21. The Pantomime runs from December 17 to 27, with no shows on Dec 25 or 26.
