Meet and greet a popular artist at a free event.

Frances Pickering is a renowned European textile artist known for creating unique paper and fabric books using a variety of textiles and unorthodox construction methods.

Recycling as many materials as possible, she has made books on the themes of ‘Elizabethan Splendor’ and ‘All Washed up’. She is the author of two books ‘Under the Cover, Paper & Fabric Books’ and ‘Page after Page, Making Individual Books and Journals’.

She will demonstrate her signature techniques as she highlights the role of women during World War One within her work during a free drop in event on July 10 from 10.30am until 4.30pm at the Warner Textile Archive, and then there will be a two day workshop July 11 and 12 where people can learn how to stitch an antique-look book using a variety of fabrics creating a montage effect.

This workshop runs from 10am until 4pm and must be pre booked by contacting the archives on 01376 557741
