Members of a Witham archery club spent 24 hours shooting arrows in a special fundraising event.
Members of the Rushgreen Bowmen took turns shooting in treams alongside their families, friends and guests including BBC Essex DJ James Whale and Braintree councillor Jo Beavis,
The 1st and 3rd Witham Scouts, the Witham Boys’ Brigade, and members of the Witham United Reformed Church were all taught the ropes by instructors during the marathon fundraiser, which was held in aid of Brainwave to support children with disabilities and additional needs.
Mrs Beavis, cabinet member for people and participation, said: “I’m so delighted to have taken in this 24 hour charity shoot and to be supporting the club as they raise money for Brainwave.
“We have been working closely with Rushgreen Bowmen in assisting their efforts to relocate and I very much look forward to seeing them continue to flourish in Witham.
“More than a sports club, they truly are a community.”
