AN APPEAL to build a farm shop and a cafe which would create four jobs has been rejected.
Plans for a shop, which would have sold free range poultry and vegetables at Little Blossom, in Braintree Road, Stebbing, were rejected for the second time after the original application in December was thrown out.
Uttlesford District Council dismissed the appeal on the grounds that the shop would not represent a sustainable development.
The council’s appeal decision documents explained the shop would compete with other facilities nearby as well as spoiling the open nature of the site.
Planning permission has previously been granted for a garage and store on the site, along with new vehicular access and a new agricultural barn, but these have not yet been built.
