Three brave people are losing their hair for a good cause at a summer fete.

Hayley Barker, 26, of Silver End and Leanne Pavitt, 19, of Dunmow who both work at Busy Bee Nursery, Galleys Corner, Braintree Road, Cressing are cutting off their long locks and donating them to the Princess Trust, which makes wigs for those who lose their own hair due to cancer.

Mat Howard, 44, of Halstead, is having his legs waxed to raise sponsor money for the same charity.

Miss Barker said: “I’m feeling quite nervous as I’ve always had long hair and it’s one thing I really llike, however I am happy to lose it for such a good cause and I know my hair will grow back.”

The hair shave and wax was organised, and will be carried out, by Claire Scoulding of Luxurious Hair and Beauty and they hope to raise £350 which covers the cost of one wig.

People are being given the opportunity to watch Miss Barker and Mr Howard having their hair cut or waxed at the nursery’s summer fete on Saturday from 11am until 3pm.

There will be fun, games and a barbecue, as well as Queen Elsa who will have her picture taken with children in aid of Action for Kids.
