Witham will be filled with seaside memories at these year's carnival.

Taking place Saturday, July 12, the floats will start at Witham Football Club, Spa Road, with floats gathering by 11.30am and judging commencing at 12pm.

The theme this year is モseaside specialヤ and it is thought that about 40 floats will be taking part. The carnival queen and princesses, who are being crowned on Saturday at the Grove Shopping Centre, will also be in their float.

The procession will set off at 1.30pm and it will make its way along Highfields Road, turn in Spinks Lane and then up the High Street before finishing at Mayland Road.

There will be a fun fair in Maldon Park Road with a variety of stalls and entertainment including preformances by Essex Samba Band, Witham Big Sing, Rascals Theatre School, Witham Little Sing and Akula Ratnavali Tribal Belly Dancers.

There will also be a dog display team as well as food stalls and the fun fair.

People can enter the float competition up to the night before, and entrance forms are available on their website, withamcarnival.org.uk.

The organisers are always looking for more marshalls; if you are interested, contact Michael: chairman@withamcarnival.org.uk.
