A steam locomotive drew crowds at Witham station this morning as it stopped to refill with water.

The Cathedrals Express Black Five called in just after 9am today and around 60 people lined the platforms to catch a glimpse.

The train then made its way to Canterbury via London.

The locomotive is one of just 18 Black Fives left in preservation but the model was once one of the most numerous steam engines in Britain.

Hubert Szymanski, who visited the station this morning, said: "I was there because of my little son Oliver - he loves trains and we use any opportunity to show him big ones or miniature ones."
