Parking problems near Witham railway station are set to be eased after a new car park nearby has been given the go ahead.
Braintree Council hopes to ease town centre congestion by building 66 new car parking spaces, including three disabled bays and motorcycle stands, at the site of former office block Eckard House, which was demolished in 2011.
A council report suggested that the site, which adjoins the existing station car park in Easton Road, was desperately needed due to most town centre car parks full with commuters during the week, according to a 2007 study.
