Thousands of people have visited a new Braintree restaurant in less than a week.
Two thousand diners have streamed through the doors of Toby Carvery in just four days since it opened opposite the Holiday Inn Express in Notley Cross on the outskirts of the town last Monday.
Some 1,200 residents also went to the preview evenings on Friday and Saturday before the official opening of the restaurant.
Diners have showered praise on the staff and chefs, who asked guests to wait for up to an hour for food on some evenings due to the high demand, it was claimed.
