RESIDENTS are demanding action on a “dangerous” road where they have lived in fear for more than a decade.
Homeowners on Oak Road, Rivenhall, claim the slip road from the A12 is too short and does not allow enough time for motorists to slow from 70mph to 30mph.
As a result drivers often come into the road too quickly, lose control and smash into properties.
Jen Brignell, 51, had two cars written off in 2011 after a driver crashed through a fence and onto her drive.
She said: “People just take the corner far too fast and then ‘bang’- straight into the wall again.
“I am gobsmacked that nobody has been killed or seriously injured. That’s more down to luck than anything else.”
