A primary school is set to double its intake after plans were approved to begin a £2.7 million revamp later this year.
Chipping Hill Primary School in Owers Road will increase its capacity from 210 pupils to 420 by the year 2021, easing the burden on an area identified by Essex County Council as oversubscribed.
Work on a new school building, additional classrooms and an extension to the kitchens will start in December 2014 and finish by summer 2015.
