Scary someone is still out there who did this. Best to be in a group not alone. 2 murders 1 stabbing in Colchester to similar for my liking . And I wonder if its more than one person involved here. We need more police on the streets cuts will only make things worse. Poor lady and family although I don't believe its a rasist motive . Not with the two other incidents of knives involved. I hope they are caught and soon . condolences to the fasmily .

Regardless of whether this latest horrific murder took place in the daytime ALL the town's street lights should be back on at night. We have two, or potentially more than two, killers out there, or possibly a serial killer, and they could strike again at any time.

My utmost sympathies go to this poor girl and her family.

We have three stabbings in three months on footpaths..... OK, one is most probably completely unrelated but please for the love of God, avoid using footpaths.... especially after dark, especially when you are alone..... Don't give this nutcase an opportunity to strike again.... All these CCTV cameras and still nobody knows anything.....

I think this really shows what a disassociated and alienated society the UK has become.... someone can be murdered in broad daylight surrounded by houses... people hear screams.... but nobody helps.... its a sad indictment of life in the UK.....

What has not yet been mentioned by the Gazette is that the 52 year old man who was arrested and held for 48 hours was the poor guy who found the girl and called the emergency services. He had his flat turned upside down, vehicles taken and got held in a cell for 2 days. You do have to query whether somebody who had just stabbed somebody multiple times would then stay there while calling the police.

Let's hope some piece of evidence is found at the scene, because it looks increasingly like we have either a serial killer, or perhaps two different lunatics running around. Keep safe, people.

Well that's the police for you in this town, and they wonder why people are afraid to come forward and help out......Disgusting, a passer by trying to help and gets accused???
Imagine if he had just walked on by and not said anything, damned if you do and damned if you don't in our society these days........

How very strange that after an initial burst of enthusiastic updates on this news story the BWT seem to have simply lost interest and haven't (for whatever reason) made any mention of the subsequent arrest - over twelve hours ago now - of a 19 year old man, even though this latest development has been all over the national media.

Brutal murder on our doorstep? Never mind that, better concentrate on the real news about dog walkies, bunking off school and the prospect of more fast food eateries.

Have they lost interest, or simply lost the plot?
