More than £2million will be spent building an enterprise centre to support new businesses in Witham, creating 100 jobs.
Braintree Council has allocated £500,000 from the New Homes Bonus to build 25 new enterprise units somewhere in the town, which will offer support and guidance to start-up firms.
The NHB money will come from developers who are building new homes in the Braintree district.
Some £2million from the Single Local Growth Fund has also been allocated for the project.
The council has not yet decided where the centre will be located.
