A tourism chief has sampled the delights of a Coggeshall vineyard.
James Berresford, chief executive of Visit England, was given a whistle-stop tour of the most noteworthy attractions in the county this week - including wine tasting at West Street Vineyard.
Alongside one of the Braintree district’s hidden gems, he visited well-known destinations including Colchester Castle, Firstsite art gallery, Layer Marney Tower, Lifehouse Spa at Thorpe-le-Soken, and Maldon, where he had a cream tea on board a sailing barge.
Jane Mohan, who runs the vineyard with her husband Stephen, said: “He seemed to really like it here, I had a very nice e-mail afterwards to say thank you."
