A fuming pensioner who installed bollards outside his bungalow after 12 cars crashed through his front gates is demanding action from the authorities following the thirteenth smash.
Owen Allan, 75, and his neighbours were left shocked when at the crack of dawn a Renault Clio ploughed through his reinforced concrete bollards, through his double iron gates, halfway up the garden, veered to the right and became impaled on the partition wall, crashing into his next door neighbour’s car, which also resulted in damage to further vehicles.
Halstead firefighters attended the scene at 3.59am on Saturday to make the area safe and check nobody was trapped in the wreckage.
