Enjoy two open garden events with lots to offer.

Coggeshall Open Gardens will be taking place June 15 and feature a wide range of “hidden” gardens from small, quiet courtyard gardens to expansive lawns.

There will also be music provided by Soaring High Montessori School and Academy East Music School, as well as the Abbey working mill which will be open from 1pm.

The gardens will be open from 11am until 5pm and the Bocking Band will be playing at the Abbey from 4pm-6pm.

Lunches will be served in the church from 12 noon, and hot dogs, cream teas and morning coffee will also be available.

People are welcome to bring their own picnics which can be enjoyed at Scrips garden.

Tickets, priced at £6 for adults and free for under 16s, are available in advance from Fork ‘andles, Paycocks and the Vineyard.

Tickets on the day are available from the Church and the Clock Tower, Market Hill. Tickets provide detailed information about the gardens, refreshments and music times.

For more information, visit coggeshallopengardens.org.uk.

On the same day June 15, 17 gardens are opening to raise funds for Farleigh Hospice in the small, historic villages of Terling and Fairstead.

The event also includes an all-day barbecue, with cream teas and light refreshments available in some of the gardens. Locally grown plants and unique locally-made country crafts will also be for sale in some of the gardens.

As it is Father’s Day, there is also more entertainment in the form of a classic car display, bell ringers at the All Saints Church, singing and dancing displays from children at the village primary school and the ancient skills of corn dolly making will be shared during special workshops on the Church Green throughout the day.

There will be plenty of well signed free car parking available on Bromwell Leaze, but please check our website for more details.

Admission is by programme £5 (children under 16 free) available on the day from car parks on Bromwell Leaze. Visit the website for more information and to see a map of the houses which are taking part: terling.org.uk/open_gardens_2014.htm.
