A former pub is expected to reopen as a convenience store as soon as next month.
Supermarket giant Morrisons was granted planning permission to make changes to the Jack and Jenny, in Hatfield Road, Witham, by Braintree Council in December.
The chain was also permitted to sell alcohol from 6am to midnight, seven days a week, at a licensing committee meeting the same month.
Building work at the site is now complete and, despite an application for new lighting being deferred by councillors earlier this month, Morrisons expects the new M Local store to open by the end of June.
