A female motorcyclist has been taken to Broomfield Hospital after a fall left her trapped beneath her Vespa motorcycle.

Ambulance crews treated the woman in her 20s shortly after 7.30am today after the incident near Gerswhin Boulevard on Hatfield Road, Witham.

An Ambulance spokesman said: "The woman's leg was trapped underneath the motorbike and we'd like to thank a passer-by who helped her.

"We treated her for a leg injury and she was taken to Broomfield Hospital for further care."
