Magistrates decided against revoking the licence of a mum who crashed her car into a young child on a pedestrian crossing.
Four-year-old Luke Spratt was walking home from Witham Nursery with mum Samantha when he was struck by Rachel Batts’ Mercedes at the crossing in The Grove, Witham, in February.
He was dragged 36 metres under the car and had to undergo numerous operations and skin grafts in hospital.
Batts was given six penalty points and fined £250 after admitting driving without due care and attention and failing to stop for a pedestrian at a zebra crossing when she appeared in court on Tuesday.
