Witham Bowls Club raises money for charity

First published in News

Witham Bowls Club has raised an impressive amount for charity.

The club held raffles, used collection tins and fined for members for bowling with the wrong hand or wearing the wrong dress to raise £2,000 for the Childrens Burns Club at Broomfield Hospital.

The immediate past president of the bowls club, Bob Dowman, selected the charity.

He said: “We are very pleased to have raised this much money and know it will be useful for the burns club.”

Admirable cause. The fines idea is very good, should have raised quite a bit at Witham B C, because they're well practiced at noticing other peoples shortcomings.
