A man's jaw was broken in three places after he was attacked by a group of men in Halstead’s High Street.

The 20-year-old, from Halstead, was knocked unconscious in the attack, which happened near Roses kebab shop between 12.30am and 12.45am on Saturday.

He cannot remember what happened.

Detectives believe he was assaulted by up to three men.

DS Becky Young, of Braintree CID, who is leading the investigation, said: "This young man had his jaw broken in three places.

“He has had surgery to have his jaw plated together and as a result of these injuries we have not yet been able to talk to him.

"We believe that up the three men were involved in the incident and we want to hear from anyone who was in the High Street, near Roses kebab shop, at the time and saw what happened.”

Anyone with information should contact DS Young or her team at Braintree on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0n 0800 555111.
