A new group is performing its debut at St Peter's Church, Bocking End, Braintree.
Trio Poetic is comprised of local drama teacher Alison Shore, London based pianist Stephen Wood, and local singer David Wood.
The group will present a poetry led programme entitled 'Hope Springs', with a thought provoking and entertaining choice of words and music on May 18 from 4pm until 5pm.
There will be readings from poems by Rudyard Kipling, Thomas Hardy and Emily Dickinson, as well as piano music by Erik Satie and Robert Schumann, and contemporary settings of well known songs by Alan Bullard and Bob Chilcott.
There is free admission to the event, with a retiring collection. Light refreshments will be served after the recital.
