Innocent staff at an under-fire care home have been sent hate mail on social media, according to a relative of a former resident.

Lesley Baliga’s mum Marjorie Tampin spent six months at neighbouring St Mary’s Court, based at the Old Deanery Care Village, until she died in June last year - two weeks after her 92nd birthday.

Mrs Baliga, of Woolpack Lane, Bocking, is keen to ensure that all care workers are not tarred with the same brush after last month's Panorama programme revealed a host of failings at the Old Deanery.

Mrs Baliga said: “I don’t condone what we saw but the majority of staff there are caring, hard working people who do an amazing job in very difficult circumstances."

I think it's disgusting what happened and probably what is happening across most of England, but yes I do agree!! All care workers shouldn't be tarred with the same brush! There are some pretty amazing care workers out there that will literally bend over backwards for people when they are in need!

Why would they "literally" bend over backwards? To pick up something? WOuldn't it be safer -- not to mention easier -- to bend over forwards and pick it up that way? Just wondering ...
