Nominations are open for the top ten Victorian and Edwardian buildings most at risk across England and Wales - whether from demolition, neglect or inappropriate redevelopment.

Individuals, organisations and campaign groups are invited to name the buildings and structures most at risk in their area.

Appearing in the Victorian Society’s top ten list helps to draw attention to a building's plight and can help save it.

Colchester’s Jumbo water tower was in 2013’s top ten and its owner has put it up for sale with campaigners hoping to buy it.

Buildings must have been built between 1837 and 1914 and do not have to be listed.
Nominations close on July 4.

The top ten list will then be announced in October.

Email (sophie@victoriansociety.org.uk), tweet (@thevicsoc) or write to The Victorian Society (at 1 Priory Gardens, London W4 1TT) with brief details of the building at risk.

Jumbo is definitely still at risk if a developer buys it. Let us hope that this does not happen, and that it is bought by the Balkerne Tower Trust, or by some other person or organisation who wants to preserve our history intact.
.
Why is this story only in the Halstead Gazette? Respect to Halstead, but Jumbo is in Colchester, so the story should have been in the Colchester Gazette, too.
.
Halstead has its own historic buildings at risk, the Courtauld air raid shelters, but of course they were built after 1914.
