Dropped kerbs are to be installed along a road following a request from residents struggling to access Witham Health Centre.
Not part of the highway, Mayland Road, Witham, is partly owned by Braintree Council and Charville Estates, the owner of the Grove Centre.
Following negotiations, the new dropped kerbs will be installed either side of the access road into Cofunds House.
Lady Patricia Newton, Braintree Council’s cabinet member for planning, said: “This is an issue which has been highlighted by residents and it is clear that those with pushchairs or mobility issues are having problems accessing the town centre and nearby medical centre.
“Following discussions with the other landowner we are now in a position to look at getting quotes for the work and we hope to appoint contractors in the near future.”
