Young singers had a huge surprise when a 90s boyband sang their praises.

After seeing a video of The Little Sing community choir performing their track, Love to Love, on YouTube, R&B boyband, Damage, got in touch with director Gemma Francis via Twitter.

They tweeted: “We are so honoured that The BIG Sing children's choir chose to sing Love to Love.

“They sounded amazing and sang with so much joy. We wish them the best and hope to hear more.”

Little Sing member Evie Miller, eight, said: “We are practicing for our show at the BIG Fest, where we have to sing in front of lots of people so whenever I get nervous, I think about the famous people saying we were great.”

Gemma and Howard Francis formed The Big Sing, a community choir in Witham, in 2011 and later expanded it to include a children’s choir, The Little Sing, and started groups in other parts of the county and beyond.

They will all perform as part of the Big Sing’ s BIG Fest at the Civic Theatre in Chelmsford on May 24.
