A MAN with a form of cerbral palsy is running five miles to give something back to the charity which helps him.
Michael Hewett, 20, has Worster-Drought Syndrome, a type of cerebral palsy which affects the muscles around the mouth and throat causing issues with speaking and swallowing.
Due to his condition, Mr Hewett, a former pupil of Edith Borthwick school, Bocking, can only communicate through using Makaton symbols and signs and an app on his Ipad, meaning that he was lacking in confidence.
However, this changed when he started attending the PARC centre in Great Notley Country Park when he was 10.
His mother, Jan Hewett, 57, of Chelmsford said: āIām not sure that he quite knows how far the run is, but he is determined to finish it."
