Parents are on alert after a series of violent attacks on schoolboys in Braintree.
Pupils from Alec Hunter Academy have been confronted by a teenage gang on at least half a dozen occasions since the beginning of last week, with a number allegedly assaulted.
The majority have happened at or near King George Playing Fields, in Cressing Road.
Police said they were aware of four boys, aged between 13 and 15, being punched in the face between last Tuesday and Monday, but believe more incidents have gone unreported.
