Two brave chefs tried in vain to save the victims of a horrific plane crash.
Mark Reynolds and Mike Nepean were on a break together at the Fox and Goose, near Chelmsford, when they spotted the YAK 52 nosedive into a nearby field on Saturday.
The pair, who are both from the Witham area, clambered through fields for about half a mile to get to the light aircraft, which had exploded into a ball of flames.
