Build community facilities before new homes, developers told

Braintree and Witham Times: Build community facilities before new homes, developers told Build community facilities before new homes, developers told

Town councillors are refusing to support plans for 135 new homes until assurances are given about promised community buildings.

Developer Taylor Wimpey has applied for permission to build on land south of Maltings Lane, Witham.

But existing residents on the Maltings Lane estate believe new shops, a nursery and a community centre should be created before any more homes are built.

As part of the masterplan for the estate, developers have pledged funds, known as section 106 money, which will go towards community facilities.

Ah Bhudeeka - the dear sweet heaven sent self-appointed champion for the rights of ordinary decent families who aspire to having homes in which to bring up their young families.

Just imagine, a very special few of them might even strike the jackpot and get to have her as a neighbour.

What was it she said the other day about the personal inconvenience to her of the delays brought about by the sad demise of a fellow lady rail traveller? .

Now I remember. It went something like this:

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGG
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
!”

Yes, I rather think that just about sums it all up don’t you?
