Frustrated drivers claim £650,000 improvement works at a notoriously congested roundabout were a “total waste of money”.
Work on Galleys Corner roundabout was completed this month and involved changes to lane markings and signage.
Motorist Paul Cutts, 34, said: “They might as well have dug a pit in the middle of it and poured the cash straight into it.”
The Highways Agency hopes the scheme will reduce queues heading towards Great Notley and Stansted.
