A proposed monthly street market in Witham should take place on Thursdays, rather than Tuesdays, business leaders have argued.
Negotiations have been taking place in recent months between Witham’s community interest company (CIC) and a potential operator.
A 100-stall market, which would involve closing Newland Street to traffic all-day, has been suggested.
Witham’s town team has agreed to support the market concept, but believes Thursdays would be more suitable because of a potential clash with events at the United Reformed Church, in Newland Street.
