Dedicated fans are clocking up hundreds of miles following Braintree Town as a fixture backlog forces the team to play up to four times a week.
The Iron’s select band of travelling fans won praise in November, when a group of 13 ventured to south Wales to watch the team play in the FA Cup.
Last Thursday’s match at Forest Green Rovers saw more Braintree players than fans present, as a group of ten enthusiastic supporters made the trip to Gloucestershire.
And they were rewarded for their dedication as they witnessed a 2-0 victory for the away team.
Braintree resident Simon Scott was part of the dedicated group of Iron followers who attended both games.
Simon, 43, said: “I don’t get invited to many family parties anymore because they know I will be going to the football.
“I have been going for 30 years and it is in my blood.
“The buzz you get from winning games like we did on Thursday is brilliant - it’s such a great feeling.”
