Pupils celebrated all things Chinese during a special themed day at school.
Powers Hall Academy encouraged children to dress in red and yellow, the colours of the Chinese flag, on Monday.
Activities included origami, lantern making, puppetry and a chopstick challenge, where children were tested on their ability to move jelly beans.
The school also offered Chinese food on its lunchtime menu for the day.
Teacher Rebecca Charlton-Weedy, who organised the day, said: “The kids and staff all seemed to enjoy it.
“It was meant to be a celebration of Chinese culture and it was nice to have the whole school involved.”
Pupils in Years Five and Six at the school are currently taught Mandarin Chinese as part of the curriculum.
