An airport security officer went green as part of his 4X4 charity fundraising challenge.
Stansted Airport worker Robert Cable, 39, of Megs Way, Braintree, and his friend Mike Stapleton, of Cambridge, took part in Macmillan’s Mac 4x4 Challenge in memory of their former colleague David Payn, who lost his battle with cancer in September last year.
Over 10 years, Mr Cable and Mr Stapleton have raised thousands of pounds by getting involved in the event and this year they hope to hit a £3,000 target and bring their overall total to £25,000.
The Mac 4X4 Challenge saw them and a number of other contenders put their navigational, orienteering and observation skills to the test, with on and off road sections to complete in a 4x4 vehicle, covering up to 1,000 miles.
Although green hair is not a requirement, Mr Cable, who has two step-daughters and a son, also likes to go the extra mile with his barnet.
He said: “People have said I’m quite crazy, especially when it goes as far as eyebrows.
