Two men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary in Braintree this afternoon.
Police had been in Godlings Way at 3.20pm when they saw the occupants of a car acting suspiciously.
The car was then driven away from them before the duo jumped out and ran off.
A 42-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested a short time later in Threshers Rise, Great Notley.
He is currently being questioned by detectives at Braintree police station.
Shortly before 5.30pm a second man was also arrested on suspicion of burglary.
He is currently at the police station as well.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We would like to thank those people who contacted Essex Police after seeing the police helicopter flying overhead and then seeing suspicious activity."
