No-one is believed to have been seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash in Witham this afternoon.

Police were called to Maldon Road, near the Sauls Bridge Close junction, shortly before 4pm after a black Toyota Auris, red Vauxhall Astra and a grey Toyota Hilux were in collision.

A section of the road was closed off for about an hour while the vehicles were removed.

Paramedics and fire fighters also attended the scene.

Fire fighters released a trapped man using one set of cutting equipment.

He was left in the care of the ambulance service.
