Empty shop unit becomes youth technology hub

First published in News

An empty shop has been transformed into a technology hub for young people thanks to a funding boost.

The 2nd Witham Boys’ Brigade launched its IT hub at the ‘Our Witham’ unit in Newland Street, last Friday evening.

The projects aims to provide young people in Witham with access to the internet for job hunting, CV writing, media projects and more.

The opportunity to create the IT hub arose after the boys’ brigade approached New River Retail, owner of Newlands Precinct, about using an empty shop unit as a community asset.
