Councillors and campaigners have welcomed the announcement that no drinking signs will finally go up in a park next month.
A group of mums, spearheaded by Louissa Freeman, launched a petition last April calling for action to move on nuisance drinkers after her 12-year-old daughter Leah was offered alcohol by two men at Witham Town Park.
During a Witham Town Council meeting on Monday night, PC Caroline Marsay revealed no drinking signs would go up at the park during a day of action on April 11.
