Braintree and Witham Times: Care service fined after inspection criticisms Care service fined after inspection criticisms

A care service has been fined £4,000 for not having a registered manager.

Two Counties Community Care provides daily care to people living in their own homes in Braintree and the surrounding area.

The agency was subject of an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which published its findings last month.

In all four areas assessed - care and welfare of service users, safeguarding from abuse, staffing and monitoring - the service was deemed to require improvement.

Don't think that fining is really such a good idea as it just means that they have less money to put right the things that are wrong. Far better would be for the care quality commission to step in as the missing manager and show how it should be done for a year.
