A 14-YEAR-OLD who was found hanging in her bedroom may not have intended to take her own life, an inquest has heard.

Georgia Hedges, 14, of Osbert Road, Witham was rushed to hospital after being found hanging from a wardrobe door, but the Maltings Academy pupil sadly died two days later.

Her family gave CPR before the emergency services took over and she was taken to Broomfield Hospital, in Chelmsford, before being transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, where she died on May 16.

A full police investigation was carried out and while it was established that no third party was involved in the incident, Bramwell Walls, of Folkestone Road, Walthamstow, was later charged with and jailed for sexual offences against the teenager.

At an inquest at Chelmsford County Hall coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray recorded an open verdict.
