Colchester's Military Wives Choir will be taking to the stage at The Witham Public Hall on Friday.

The choir, which was formed in July 2012, is made up of women whose menfolk are serving in the military.

Kelly Jackson, of Knightsbridge Close, Colchester, belongs to the choir.

Her husband, Mark, is a serving away as a sergeant, while she cares for their two children.

She said: “The choir helps massively, but it’s not just exclusively for wives, we have ladies who serve in the military themselves, mothers, girlfriends, children, any woman who is connected directly with the military can join.

“It’s just somewhere you get to go together and do something that you probably wouldn’t do otherwise.

“You get to spend time with people who know what you are going through, it’s a family.”

The performance at the Public Hall starts at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm.

Tickets are £10, concessions £8 available from Witham Town Hall or by calling 0845 017 8717.
