Students “went dotty” for their college work after being inspired by pop art and minimalist artists.

The Fashion and Textiles students, at The College at Braintree, in Church Lane, created a colourful installation, The Re-making of the Obliteration Room, as part of their coursework for their UAL Diploma Level 3 qualification.

The students learnt about fashion and textile techniques such as fabric dying, printing and fashion illustration before creating their own “Going Dotty” themed garments after being inspired by the work of artists such as Yayoi-Kusama, Manish Arora and Damien Hirst.

They then worked on a colourful dotty backdrop to celebrate their dot and circle themed textile designs.
