A student artist who transformed Barbie dolls into domestic violence victims has had her work exhibited.
Sam Humphreys, who is in the final year of a BA (Hons) degree in Contemporary Art and Design at Writtle College, painted blood and bruises on the iconic dolls as part of a project at the end of her second year.
The mum-of-three, who lives in Bocking, wanted to show the difference between the innocent way children view the world and the darker realities.
Her work has been selected as part of a gallery at Leicester University called Speaking Out, which features depictions of violence against women in art.
