A driver may be prosecuted after a child was involved in a crash.

A three-year-old boy was flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, last Tuesday after becoming trapped under a grey Mercedes A180 in The Grove, Witham.

It was initially thought the youngster had suffered a serious head injury, but he was later allowed home to recover from cuts and bruises.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “Officers are considering a prosecution of careless driving against the female car driver, but may also offer her the option of improving her motoring skills with a place on a driver improvement course.”

I am sure this driver is suffering and re living the situation every day since and this should be enough with what happened and it is not in the public interest to prosecute providing she was all legal and not speeding ... it was a accident papers and police say and the little boy is thankfully ok my thought go out to both parties involved .....

But please can we have some more information about this accident. Did the driver mount the pavement at speed and wipe the kid out? Did he run out in front of her without warning? WHAT HAPPENED?
