A council has apologised after a grandmother slipped on a broken paving slab in Witham town centre.
Linda Hume, 66, was walking along Newland Street when she tripped on the pavement near the Sun Studio shop.
Essex Highways, which is responsible for maintaining the pavement, pledged to repair the fault urgently following the accident, which left Mrs Hume with two black eyes.
