A youngster has had his treasured locks shaved off in memory of his grandfather.
James Clayton, ten, braved the clippers in front of watching friends and family to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
The Kelvedon St Mary’s Academy pupil is fundraising after his grandfather, Clive Norris, died in December.
Mum Robyn said: “For us as a family it is a nice thing to do - it was a bit of a joint decision to do the head shave.
“James has a great mop of dark brown curly hair, but it was getting out of control!”
The headshave took place on Thursday at the scout hut in St Mary’s Road, Kelvedon.
As of Tuesday, James had raised £520 for charity.
