An event held by the Citizen’s Advice Bureau demonstrated how to keep warm this winter.

The Big Energy Saving Week was run jointly by Braintree Council, foodbanks, the Rural Community Council of Essex and village agents, Greenfields Housing Association, Braintree District Voluntary Support Agency and the Braintree, Witham and Halstead branches of the CAB, to help people make sure they are not paying more than they should to warm their homes.

The event, on January 29, Braintree Town Hall opened its doors, with volunteers on hand to answer questions about cutting energy bills, switching tariff and insulating homes, and leaflets with advice were handed out.
