A centre for children with learning disabilities has been praised by inspectors in a new report.

Ofsted had called for improvements at Parc, based at Great Notley Country Park, following a previous visit last year.

But the charity has now been rated good in Ofsted’s latest inspection report, published last month.

Parc was given grade one, the best possible rating, in 2010, but this had dropped to grade three - satisfactory - in a report published in August.

The latest report said: “All managers and staff have a good understanding of their roles and responsibility and the importance of safeguarding vulnerable children and young people.

“This ensures that children and young people are protected.”

Parc is currently attended by 24 children in the early years age group. It also holds after school sessions and a youth club for teenagers.

Centre co-chairman Nick Ross said: “The latest Ofsted report highlights what a great organisation Parc is.

“Parc helps hundreds of special needs children to have a safe environment to play, learn and develop, as well as give valuable short term breaks and support to families.”
