Developers are being urged to carry out a full archaeological check before building a new solar farm.

Push Energy wants to install panels on 21 acres of agricultural land north of Gosfield Airfield.

But the proposed site is within an area which could include “a medieval landscape including moats, placenames and pottery kilns”, according to Essex County Council (ECC) archaeologists.

Braintree Council aims to rule on the application by the end of March.
